Privacy policy
What data we handle, why, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights. Written for people, not just for lawyers.
Effective October 15, 2026 · Version 1.1 · The Spanish version is the original; this is a translation.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Grupo Castmedia, S.A. (“Castmedia,” “we”), based in Guatemala City, Guatemala, handles the personal data of people who visit grupocastmedia.com or contact us through the channels listed on this site. We mainly serve businesses and churches in Guatemala, Central America and the Hispanic community in the United States.
It does not apply to our clients’ websites, even if they are hosted under this domain (for example, on their own path or subdomain): each client is responsible for its site and its own policy. Nor does it apply to third-party services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, which have their own terms.
2. Data we handle
Data you share with us
When you write to us or use the contact form: your name, the name of your business or church, your title or role, your phone number, the service you’re interested in and whatever you choose to tell us in your message. If you become a client, also the data needed for the proposal, billing and the project.
The form does not send data to our servers. It prepares a message in your browser that you review and send on WhatsApp. We only receive what you choose to send.
Data generated when you visit the site
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes data such as your IP address, browser, requested page and date to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Usage statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, how many visits the site gets, which pages are viewed, from which country, with which browser and how fast it loads. According to Cloudflare, this service does not use tracking cookies or device fingerprinting, and we do not use it to identify you.
- Preferences in your browser. The site stores on your own device whether you paused the animations, the language you chose (Spanish or English) and, during the session, whether you already saw the intro. It does not use cookies for this, and that information is not sent to Castmedia.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or advertising cookies. If we add measurement or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy before turning them on and ask for your consent where required.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and Fontshare. To display them, your browser connects to those services, which receive technical data such as your IP address.
3. How we use it
- To answer your inquiries and prepare proposals.
- To provide the services you hire us for and coordinate the project with you.
- To bill and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To keep the site secure and understand, in aggregate, how it is used so we can improve it.
- To send you marketing information only if you ask for it or agree to it. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
4. Churches and sensitive data
We do not ask for information about your beliefs, your health, your family situation or data about minors. If you tell us the name of your church or your role in it, we use it only to handle your inquiry and the contracted project.
Pastoral, prayer or counseling requests are not part of our service. If they are shared with us, they are not used for advertising or to train artificial intelligence models. Please don’t include confidential information or other people’s personal details in your messages.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
- Providers that help us operate: Cloudflare (hosting, security, statistics and email forwarding), Google (email and fonts), Fontshare (fonts) and WhatsApp, from Meta, when you choose to message us there. Each one handles data under its own policies.
- Project collaborators: only when necessary to deliver what you hired us for, and with the minimum scope required.
- Authorities: when a law or a competent order requires it.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and in countries other than yours. We choose well-known providers that apply their own security measures to protect that information.
7. How long we keep it
- Inquiries that don’t become a project: 12 months from the last contact. After that, we delete them.
- Clients: for as long as the relationship lasts and, afterwards, for the time required by applicable tax, accounting and commercial obligations.
- Technical logs and statistics: according to Cloudflare’s retention periods.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct or update it.
- Delete it, except for data we must keep by law.
- Stop sending you marketing communications.
- Withdraw any consent you have given us.
Write to us at privacidad@grupocastmedia.com or on WhatsApp at +502 4050 5800. To protect your data, we may ask for information that confirms your identity; we will never ask for passwords. We respond within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you, and it will not exceed 45 days. Exercising your rights is free and does not affect how we treat you.
9. If you live in the United States
Some states, such as California, give their residents additional privacy rights when a business meets certain criteria. When those laws apply to us, we will honor the rights they recognize, including the rights to know, correct and delete. Because we do not sell or share data for targeted advertising, we do not offer an opt-out link: there is nothing to opt out of. We also honor your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request. You may act through an authorized agent, who must provide proof of their authorization.
We do not send marketing text messages or make marketing calls without your prior consent.
10. Children
This site is intended for businesses and churches, not for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The site always runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and limits what the browser can load from other sites. Internal access to your inquiries is limited to the people who handle them. No system is completely foolproof; if an incident affecting your data occurs, we will inform you where appropriate.
12. Legal framework
As of the date of this policy, Guatemala does not have a general personal data protection law. We apply these practices in good faith, together with the Political Constitution of the Republic of Guatemala and other applicable Guatemalan laws. For people in the United States, we comply with the federal and state laws that apply based on their scope. If the law changes, we will update this policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page with its new effective date. If the change is significant, such as a new purpose or a new type of provider, we will highlight it on the site before it takes effect.
